Chapter Four: Family & Connection

It had been 17 years since we had a family picture with my dad in it. Then he was gone, and that window closed for good. That's not a sad opener for the sake of being sad, it's the actual reason this chapter exists. You think you have time. Everyone thinks they have time, until the day you don't. This isn't about matching outfits and everyone staring at the camera looking vaguely uncomfortable. It's about getting your people in one frame while you still can, the real version of you, the one that laughs too loud and argues in the car and loves each other anyway. Do it now. Not next year.
