TINA MINSHALL PHOTOGRAPHY PRESENTS

DEMENTIA & ALZHEIMER'S FAMILY PORTRAITS - BECAUSE RIGHT NOW IS THE GIFT.

The Present Project

While everyone is still here.

There is a particular kind of love that lives inside a caregiving family. Quiet, patient, and fierce all at once. It shows up in small moments - a hand held, a laugh shared, a face you want to memorize.

Whether it's Grandpa in his finest suit, Mom wrapped in something beautiful, or Dad exactly as he's always been - The Present Project was created to honor that person and the family surrounding them. To capture it all before the window closes.

To give you something permanent, beautiful, and wholly yours - portraits that will live on your walls, in your albums, and in the hands of generations who come after you.

Because this moment - right now, while everyone is together - is the gift.

THE SIGNATURE ELEMENT

Styled Around Them. Always.

Every Present Project session is styled around your loved one - whoever they are, however they shine brightest. Grandpa in his sharpest suit. Mom in her favorite color. Dad in his military uniform. Whatever says them.

For family members who want that extra moment of feeling extraordinary, our signature collection of luxury tulle robes is available - soft, sweeping, and undeniably beautiful. Entirely optional. But if your loved one is the kind of person who would light up being dressed up — this is their moment.

Available in:

Ivory · Black · Lime · Neon Pink

Then. Now. Always.

Behind every diagnosis is a lifetime of moments. A mother. A father. A best friend. A whole beautiful life - and they are still every bit of it.

The Present Project exists to capture who they are in this moment - while creating something beautiful for everyone who loves them. Because right now is the gift.

The Experience

Unhurried. Warm. Entirely theirs.

We follow their lead - always. If they need more time, we slow down. If they're ready to stop, we stop. There are no rigid timelines here, no pressure, no poses that don't feel like them.

Sessions take place in studio, your home, or a location that holds meaning for your family. Familiar surroundings bring out the most natural, most beautiful version of the people you love.

What you walk away with are portraits that feel like truth - not performance.

How It Works

From the moment you reach out to the day your album arrives, every step is designed to feel as meaningful as the portraits themselves.

01  A conversation first

We begin with a gentle, no-obligation call. Tell me about your family, your loved one, what a good day looks like for them. From there, I'll curate every detail of the session around them.

02  Style your session

We'll talk through how you'd like your loved one to be styled - their favorite outfit, something meaningful, or something entirely new. For family members who want a robe, you'll choose from our signature colors - ivory, black, lime, or neon pink. That small act of anticipation is the beginning of something special.

03  The session - at their pace

In your home or a place they love. We take our time. We let the moments come. We stop when they're ready. Everything follows their energy, their comfort, their joy.

04  The reveal - together

We gather for an in-person viewing appointment where you'll see your portraits for the first time as a family. You'll choose your collection - your album, your wall art - in the room, together.

05  Heirloom delivery

Your custom lay-flat album, printed with every image you selected. Your wall portrait, ready to hang. Delivered beautifully - and kept forever.

Tina Minshall - Jacksonville Florida portrait photographer and founder of The Present Project

I have lost my Dad and best friend of 35 years to cancer ~ unexpectedly, and heartbreakingly close together. My Mama lives with Alzheimer's, and as her memories continue to fade, there are days she doesn't remember we experienced those losses at all.

I know what it means to wish you had one more photograph. One more afternoon. One more ordinary moment you didn't know to savour.

I built The Present Project so that you don't have to wish.
